VATICANO 68 B&B is situated in front of the walls of the Vatican City in a strategic position:

The name mean "meadows" because in the XIX century this was a countryside area with meadows and vineyards.
Here was built this geometrical french style neighborhood because the new capital of Italy needed to expand. Large and regular boulevards, big squares and fin de siecle buildings characterize Prati.

RIONE BORGO
Borgo is one of the traditional neighborhoods(rioni) of medieval Rome. Its history is strictly connected with the Vatican court. Borgo develop with the transfer of the court from Laterano (San Giovanni) to Vaticano. The rione grow togheter with the building yard of San Pietro.
This area, although deeply transformed during the fascist period, maintain its medieval charme in streets such as Borgo Pio.
